The title above is important to a home business all on it’s own, but I will come back to that in a minute. The article that I am pointing you to is about a little home business that would never have occurred to me.

The man worked as a glazier and noticed a niche that was not being covered in his area. He was receiving more and more requests for cat doors to be installed, so he decided to look into the possibilities of supplying and installing them. Suddenly the man had his own little home business.

And I mentioned about the "still learning after 20 years". Because Grant Jackson kept up with the changes in the industry, he put all of that knowledge to work and grew the business to the point that he has hired two contractors.

What adversity have you overcome?
Moving from an employed tradesperson to that of self-employed business owner has meant facing the challenges of understanding marketing, stock holding and control; budgets, forecasts and cash flow, and all those many administrative aspects that can make or break a business both in the first year and if not attended to, break it in any year. I certainly have a lot more knowledge and appreciation of what it means to be self employed now than I did 25 years ago and I am still learning as the market, and economy, are constantly changing.
